In a significant moment of reflection, His Highness recalled a 1974 meeting between the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and a team from NASA who briefed him on the Apollo program. He noted how the partnership has flourished since then, culminating in the UAE’s involvement with NASA’s Gateway mission, the first space station around the moon.

President Sheikh Mohamed reaffirmed that the UAE and US share a deep-rooted friendship and strategic alliance, built on mutual trust and shared interests. The leaders also discussed pressing regional and global issues, including the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. His Highness expressed gratitude for President Biden’s efforts to broker peace and underscored the UAE’s ongoing support for diplomatic solutions to crises in the Middle East. The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials from the UAE, including H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States.
